Argiope aurantia (Peter B [October 20, 2008])

Found in the ID sign for the restaurants. Had 2 egg sacs nearby. Did not move the whole time I was reaching into the sign while repairing the lights. (30 minutes or so)

Her colour was silvery as opposed  to yellow. Does she qualify as an aurantia?

Cheers, Pete

Nice shot! That's most definitely A. aurantia. This submission must be one of the lastest in the growing season so I'd be interested in updates on this individual as winter becomes more and more fierce.
