Observed 2 immature specimens both possibly females. One was found on a daisy holding a prey that looked to be a rove beetle (Staphylinidae). The second spider was found on the hood of my car while I was on the highway driving back to my place. It made the 20 km ride safely clinging to a thread! A good illustration of spider silk strength!

That would have been quite a harrowing ride! A "click spot on map" feature in Spider WebWatch ought to be "affix this mail ordered GPS tracking unit" :)
It reminds of me how Dutch Elm Disease, Gypsy moth, etc. get transported from one place to the next. In the case of the gypsy moth (in the east anyway), why bother flying when you can get your babies to hitch a ride in a car's wheel well (e.g. http://www.entm.purdue.edu/GM/images/home_moth44.jpg).
