    I found another baby argiope today!  It built its web along the west side of my house in the ivy.  This is the third one I am watching.

    The first two baby Argiope aurantias of the year!!!  I found one in my black eyed susans and the other in the ivy on the side of my house.  Summer is officially here!

    Argiope aurantia (katy k davis [Sep 19, 2007])I have a yard full of these! I love them, so beautiful. I had 6, two of them have disappeared. Left behind a jumble of web and leaves. Babies? I have woods surrounding my backyard, they love it.

    Two ladies at my inlaws, one is in an old horse feed dish laying on it's side, the other in an old calf feed trough.  Both have laid 2 sacs this year.  At last observance, one of the ladies looked fat enough to lay a third.

    Will post pictures when I get them developed.

    Argiope aurantia (Kevin T. Cook [Sep 12, 2007])Captured two females, one laid an egg sac which hatched and I set a few dozen spiderlings free.  Found on property adjacent to West Branch State Park in Ravenna, Ohio.

    One web with female seen in Dunes Beach Parking lot.  This female very skittish and ran off centre of web under a leaf in the corner while I was still 2 metres away.
