    Observed 2 females on their web alongside a rural road ditch.  Spider community largely dominated by Argiope aurantia.  (There were over 40 individuals of this later species on that same location.)  Habitat: grasses, milkweed and Salix sp..  Corn field near.

    Argiope trifasciata (Michael D. Campbell [Aug 8, 2007])Location: McCordsville, Buck Creek Township, Hancock County, Indiana Date & Time: August 8, 2007; 18:50 hours, Habitat: Shrub bed & shade garden, Predominant vegetation: summersweet, great blue lobelia, sensitive fern  Details: First argiope seen this year, a large immature female with her web hung between the branches of a summersweet about 1 meter above ground level.  Next day two more discovered approximately 6 meters away in wildflower garden and a fourth would be found in wildflower garden within a week, all with webs no more than half a meter high in obedient plant and coneflowers.

    Argiope trifasciata (Bev Wigney [Aug 11, 2006])Sighting Report - Concentration of immature female & male Argiope trifasciata spiders: -- Location: City of Ottawa (formerly Osgoode Township), Carleton County, Ontario, Canada., Coordinates: Osgoode 45.14651, -75.60883., Date & Time: August 11, 2006; 15:40 hours., Habitat: Oldfield meadow -- Intentionally created Spider Habitat. Predominant vegetation: goldenrod, Wild cucumber, common milkweed, yarrow, Aster., Details: Seven A. trifasciata found on orbs in less than a square meter, suspended from goldenrod. Two immature females had parallel orbs almost on top of each other (see photo). Another immature female's orb had two males on fragile webbing to the side and below. Nearby was another larger female with a male in the corner of her web. And one more immature female alone on an orb.
