I'm a naturalist and photographer living on a retired farm about 15 miles south of Ottawa, Ontario.  I've been watching spiders for about 4 years, and maintain a section of my garden specifically for Argiope and other spiders (Spider Ranch).  The farm was retired from active duty (a large dairy goat herd) in 1998.  Since we came here about 30 years ago, we've planted a variety of native trees and bushes and allowed the pastures and meadows to become naturalized to provide habitat for a range of wildlife and invertebrates.
